Arkansas folks speak up.........

Congrats Jen! Sounds wonderful for your birds. I want to see pictures too.

It certainly was a nice day. I managed to get some good work done around the pens too. I'm in the process of finishing up a large run, 6 foot tall. Not sure how long it is though, it goes behind the barn and over to the shadier side. One pen of chickens has been getting to hot, so the new run behind the barn will be a nice cool retreat for them. I'm so relieved that I'm almost done. Except for the bird netting over the top, which I'll have to buy later, I should finish it up today.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I've been doing chores and repairs around the house and barn and haven't been online much. In fact, gotta get back to work!

I spent all day working around the house and chickens. It was such a wonderful day. Today will be great also. My pullets are starting to lay.

Sheesh. It's a little cloudy out here, but still pretty and I'm not far from you. In Clinton. I hope it rains. Maybe it'll keep the cool weather around for a while. We stayed on the lake fishing most of the weekend!

OK, here's a pic. It might be kind of hard to see since I had to get waaayyyy back to get it all in the picture!

You can see the arches of the green house/poultry house-to-be in the center standing up against an old grape arbor. The hoop house in the center is made from a trampoline frame and will be the coop until the big one goes up. The tent thing on the left is sort of a range shelter that has the feeders and waterer. And of course, all 21 turkeys gathered up by the gate, because that's what they do every time I come out of the house.
