Ol Red Beullers Day Off!

Just staggered a hatch in my bator. I got 8 new eggs in a swap that are either Buff Orpington or Black Australorp or a little of both!

My partner wouldn't give me any clues, but I snooped her website and posts and that's what I come up with! Both being a favorite breed of mine, I'm excited!

Of my 12 serama eggs, only three have definate wigglies and one of them is a hmm....Every single one of my homegrown eggs have a wiggley so that's 15 to hopefully hatch on the 7th of March and another 8 to hopefully hatch on the 14th. LOL I currently have one month olds in one brooder and 2 weekers in another. I think I've lost my cotton-picking mind!

More chicks in Arkansas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hatched more babies Friday. * Jersey Giants(2 blue)(6 Black) and 6 Delaware's(from Texas, but they will get over it.)I also have 16 chicks from Jen and they are doing just great. I can't say enough good things about them Buckeye chicks.

I've got two out of four laying! Yesterday I was looking forward to getting another green egg from Gladys but I found a big brown BR eggy! I can't wait for my other BR to get with it and to finally find out what color my little EE will lay.

My hubby needs a job so we can get a house so I can get more chickens...

I have 7 quail in the brooder, I had to interrupt their hatch to put the buckeye eggs in the hatcher, so I put the rest of the quail eggs in another hatcher, I don't know if they'll do anthing or not. I'm not going to try to hatch in the sportsman anymore unless a) I don't have anything else incubating, or b) I have all three hatchers already loaded. I had waited overtime on the buckeyes hoping the quail would finish, but I waited too long and two were already pipped. I hope I didn't screw them up moving them so late. Anybody have any experience in moving eggs late?

I'm up to 5 or 6 and there might be a BCM egg in the mix. The girls are sloooow this week! I guess I'll have to go out and shake my turkey baster at them.
I'm hoping to find at least two in the nest box today. Maybe I should go out there and fluff up their nests'?

Leave mints in them? Hopefully we'll have a full dozen by Wednesday.

Barry white CD, and a bottle of red wine. That might do the trick. Candles might be a little dangerous with all the flammable material in there and all.
