Arkansas folks speak up.........

Hi,No I dont have any Large Fowl. The only Breed I have is OE Bantams.I was at Shawnee last year it's a very nice show,I really enjoyed it.The Fayetteville show will be November 6th at the Washington county fair grounds,I already have my room reserved for it.I met a gentelman last weekend in Pine Bluff at the show his name was Forest Beauford.Having Langshans I'm sure you know him. He's something else. Thanks for giving some information I hope there will be more that will help.

Forrest lives up the road from me! haha! I'm from Claremore, OK but moved to Arkansas to get some college under my belt.

I wish I could take half of Forrest's brain and insert it in with my own. He's got stories, ideas...great stuff to listen to when you've got time.

Are there any Arkansas based poultry clubs. I have raised chickens for years, my oldest daughter actually won the Grand Champion three times in five years while in 4H. Now my youngest is interest in raising birds with the old man. She isn't in 4H, but I am thinking of the possibility of joining a club of sorts. We are just getting into raising Welsummers and Marans (mainly BC and French Blue Splashes). I have really nice wellie chicks, and will be keeping only the best, and am upgrading my BC's to those from the bev davis and wade jeane lines. Would like to eventually start showing my birds maybe next year.

I helped him Friday evening coop all of his birds in.I sat and talked to him quiet a while that evening. You can tell in just that one meeting that he really loves what he's been doing for so many years.

There are several clubs here in the state. The one that comes to mind first is the Heart of the Ozarks Poultry Association in northwest Arkansas.I'm sure others could give you more information on that.

Very true! But you can't say that he doesn't stand by his morals! I love listening to his stories, asking advice, ideas...his property is something I'd like to copy-cat one day.

Course, sitting in 110*F at noon in the shade isn't one of my favorite things to do, but sometimes it's the only time you've got to listen. It will be a huge loss to the fancy when (and if!) he ever does pass. I wish we could have mind X-rays in his case!
