Arkansas folks speak up.........

Oh, my! Up here in Logan County, West of Dardanelle I think we have about 2-3" on the ground now and it is snowing heavy still. Fine snowflakes but still heavy.

I have no place to go tomorrow so I don't mind some snow right now. We are forcast more snow in to tomorrow also.

Chickens are snug....but had to load the three cochins into the new coop. They were sleeping in their corner of their pen. Closed the pop door so they are snug also for the night. The roo was on top of the girls with his wings spread out keeping the snow off of them. THAT was a sweet, sweet picture! Will have to get up and out early to open their door!

Ya'll all stay warm!

Well, we lost the internet assuming to snow on our dish about 5 pm yeaterday, which we can't reach to clean, and it just came back up a little while ago. We probably got about 3 inches. I had spoken with DD and thought it was supposed to stay fairly cold, she didn't feel like getting out in it too early. I got half way through feeding and came in to call her and tell her to get her young'un dressed and out in it if she wanted fun, it was warming up fast. So they were headed out to build snowmen and I went back to feeding. Most of the chickens were a little hesitant, but the forthcoming feed brought them out with no trouble. But the guineas wanted no part of it. They were flying from their roost up to the trees 40 and 50 feet in the air and sittling there yelling about their strange new world.

I'm between Little Rock and Benton, haven't measured myself but was told that one guy measured on his window seal and said that it was 9 inches.

I woke up to about a half inch on top of the cars. Real dry powdery stuff. We're supposed to get ours out of this next system, but it is not supposed to be that much, probably just a couple of inches.

I was surprised. When I let the chickens out this morning, they went out into it without any problem. I guess because the grass was not covered. We'll see how they handle a few inches if the predictions are right.

We recieved a total of 6.1" of snow in Monticello. Here are some photos we took.....

The children sure enjoyed playing in the snow. So did the Chanteclers.
