Arkansas folks speak up.........

I'm sorry Rayray, are your welsh harleys not laying yet? She told me when I got mine that the female was about laying age (hadn't started yet but should in the next month).

she told me the same thing when I got mine and i'm still waiting maybe they need time to adjust to their new homes and the weather hasn't helped but she did say the wh were her best layers odd since she also has khaki Campbells, I have a kc and wh hen from her and neither are laying yet.

@ozark and @rayray, I'm sorry... I wonder if its because they are younger than she thought, or the weird weather, combined with stress of a new move. I'm hoping mine settle in fairly quickly, get friendlier, and start laying.

Rayray, Ozark, did your ducks eat at first? I'm not sure if mine are just nervous or what but I don't think they have ate at all... although they have been playing in the water!

Sold all 19 chicks that hatched this time around.
8 Naked Neck
2 Black Jersey Giant
3 Easter Egger
6 Olive Eggers (Blue Copper Marans rooster x non-bearded EE and a hen of unknown breeding that lays a green egg).

Next hatch will be March 21st. Next setting will be on the 25th of March.

Well I give up on duck eggs for now I candled tonight and all the pretty red veins have disappeared and what veins that were left turned brownish black in color absolutely no movement and what used to be embryos are all dark so I tossed them one was stinking already I'll stick with chickens for a bit longer and just hatch my duck eggs when they start

Now I need a good source for chicken eggs again the guy I found in Mt view fired up his incubator so getting eggs is a lil tougher my original source of eggs not naming names but seems like even the pures they have arnt the best colorations so I'm stuck lol I have a empty incubator and its breaking my heart hahaha
