Arkansas folks speak up.........

Any one between Texarkana and  LR area have any Crested Legbars for sale now or up coming?  I can't go much farther than LR...  I live in Texarkana, so it's a bit of a drive, and I have family in Bryant.

I don't have. A while back you were asking about Lavender Orpingtons, but my browser wasn't letting me post. How are you doing on getting these? I have a rooster and two pullet who have been laying about six weeks now. I live in Redwater, TX. Out hwy 67 from t-town.

New to BYC here. I am in Russellville and have 3 red sex link LF hens and a Dominique Bantam Roo, a mix of 8 Bantam chicks that are 3 weeks old and an incubator with 8 eggs in it on Day 20. I have had chickens for 3 years and just love them to bits. Ready to invest in more. I would love to get some Buff or Lavender Orpintons but don't have a lot to invest in chickens right now so I will continue to just get what I can cheaply and locally for now. Maybe someday though. So excited to see if any of my eggs hatch. They have been rocking a rolling in the bator but haven't heard any peeps yet or seen any external pips.

Hello and
welcome-byc.gif
, from Mabelvale.

Nice! I can't wait to have ducklings =)
Eventually I think I will have 1 drake to 3 hens... but I'm gonna hatch out my own and then get either a new drake or keep my drake and get a new hen... Its difficult to choose, because my drake is a good guy he is protective and won't leave my hen which is a great quality in a drake. They are also mated so they do really well together. I might just get two females ducklings from @Ozark and keep what I have... I think they will be fine to mate I was only worried about the drake mating with his own offspring... so I'll need to bring new hens in =)

... I realize replacing the drake would be easier but.. what can I say I'm attached. He is a good guy ^.^

My poor drake has been caught by my dog twice and even when chased by a dog he tries to protect the hen!

... luckily my dog didn't hurt him (he doesn't know what to do with him when caught haha).. anyway anyone have dog training tips. I think my dog is just curious and wants to play because if he wanted to hurt them he could have by now but I'm worried he will accidentally or when he is overly excited.

I had the same problem with one of my dogs just wanting to play. I broke her by putting a firm grip on her neck as an alpha male or female would and forcing her to the ground with a firm no always and only when she was caught in the act. She figured it out pretty fast.

@Ozark, thanks we will have to try the "bite" technique more. I really don't think he means to hurt them but its easy for him too... I really want to be able to let them play outside with the ducks out too!

I have a hen and I need a rooster so if you hear of anyone let me know
I haven't heard of any one having any roos for sale. I'm looking for a couple of hens, myself, but I'll keep my ear to the ground.

Sadly I never found any one offering any chicks. Are you hatching any?
