Yes, they will eat the finer stuff, so you want the big flakes, but, still have to give them chick grit. I use parakeet grit for the first two weeks then the regular chick grit. That should take care of any shavings they happen to eat.
So, your rooster has been that way since hatch? And never recovered? I have found the old style plastic BandAid bandaids stay together best. All the other brands and type don't stick together long. End up having to change them everyday. Must have some old duct tape, never heard of that not staying together!
Thankyou Mrs BB, yes the Band-Aids where from the hospital I work at, and the brand 'Duck tape' won't even stick to cardboard.. (Riped off)..but I thought it would be be gentler on him. No he was not like this from birth... He became this way. I'm going to look for some chick vitamins at the feed store in Lincoln, on my way to work today, as I don't go into work till later.
