Arkansas folks speak up.........

Here is a thought, go to Atwoods etc and buy a fan. its easy to install and then you will have a circulated air incubator. Instructions come with the fan on how to install. If you have no installation holes in your incubator, just carefully drill some holes. I know some have used computer fans, but its best to use one made for incubators.

Here is one from http://www.randallburkey.com/Turbo-fan-Kit-For-Hova-Bator/productinfo/2364/#.UQ5vMB2Ho54

Hello my fellow arkansasns. I have recently been elected as the ASBC state rep. "American Silkie Bantam Club".

I will try to help arrange a special ASBC meet with the show producer for the Backwoods Poultry Show in Rison, Arkansas March 2.

Have a great day!

COngrats! Please post some details on the show in rison

I will contact the producer today for more info. Last time I spoke to him, he has 2-3 other clubs having meets. This show is the APA/ABA state meet of the year.

Some of the best breeders in the state will attend. If you are looking to make contacts with breeders or just view some of the best birds in the state, you should attend the show!

I will post more info after I speak to the producer.

Wondering : will there be any for sale? I do hope it is close enough for me to go! I'm wanting to start breeding towards sop...:weee

there should be some birds for sale.  Most APA/ABA sanctioned shows i have attended had birds to buy/sell.

I'm so thrilled!!! I want sq breeders that breed towards sop to get started with. Ive learned so much from everyone, so from now on I am going sq or heritage so these breeds can be perfect and around for a very long time. Thank you for giving a newbie a chance at living her dreams! :celebrate

hatchery birds are great for meat and eggs. SOP bred birds are more for preserving the breed, and showing. I keep both SOP and hatchery birds, of course not everyone has 28 acres to keep 70-160 birds at one time. It all depends on what you want from your flock.
