Arkansas folks speak up.........

My rain bucket now has 9.25" of rain in it. I'm gonna have to dump it before it rains anymore!! My dad also reported 9" at his house as well.

The thunder was bad at my house too. After I saw the lightening strike in my neighbor's back yard I was glad I have blackout curtains in my bedroom! Yipes!

I woke up around 5am because the thunder was SO loud, it not only was shaking the windows/walls, THE FLOOR was shaking as well. Our house has a plain hardwood floor that is the sub-floor and finished-floor both, and it carries vibrations very well (I like that fact) and our bed is on the floor, no frame, so I woke up groggily wondering if our house was going to shake right off of the foundation because of all this thunder. I had a panicky though "what if" and then I woke the rest of the way up and thought, "yeah right"

But at least no tornadoes went past my house!!!

Good thing ya'll are OK!!!

Jarhead, my drake is a mallard and the hen is a buf crested. If they hatch, you are welcome to some ducks if you want to try it. Mine are so calm. They stay on our property and our neighbor has a pond but they have never passed the fence.

Amanda, bless your heart, you have had such bad luck. You might want to go to the next auction outside of Benton this month.

Julie, I thought about you this morning and said a prayer when I heard there was damage at Monticello. I was going to call Stephanie and have her to check on you but it slipped my mind. We had to have a family meeting at the nursing home where my parents are. It really comes in handy to have a brother that has been a pastor for 35 years. He did great!

No ducks hatched yet but more of the duck is in the air cell so maybe soon.

I did come home to my dog having 5 puppies in the center of my living room floor on a blanket

I'm glad everyone survived the storms last night.

Thanks, Jackie. We were all very blessed right around here. Some cars were crushed and there were a few injuries, but no death or homes destroyed. My chicken coop is right under a big oak tree. All it did was drop a huge limb in the yard.

Amanda, well, cr@p! I can't believe the luck you're having. I'm shocked and so so sorry.

I'm seeing if the pics I took of the Cochin pair turned out now. It was so dark in the coop, but raining cats and dogs outside. Now, they're in that awkward dinosaur looking stage right now, lol!

I was without electricity for a good while, and it flooded so badly I had to go all around the world to get home and then back today. Nearly 3 hours to get home last night....usually takes 20 minutes!

I had to take my incubator to town, and it wasn't running for several hours.

I'm so worried. I'm on the last week now.

I'll pm you if the pics turned out at all.

Ok, Amanda. Just sent two pictures. You can see from the pics how wet my coop is! Not underwater YET, but when we shut the door yesterday it pushed a small wave in! Just a big stinky mess!

I've got to head home and see if I have to go the long way, or the really long way, lol! Sigh... Bye, bye!

I think I may of been bitten by the Marans bug. I had never heard of them before. The name kept popping up so I googled it. What beautiful, dark eggs!!! So do these chicks cluck with a French accent?

Oui, lol! I think the eggs are what drew me in, but they have such a regal look with those big standard combs. I just love them!

Amanda! I'm so sorry! I wish my phone had rang. These two have been keeping me company here all day. The female is sitting in my lap, biting my hands as I type, and the male is picking at my ankles under the desk! They want constant attention! They really haven't been handled all that much, since there were about 12 in that bunch and they're all still together, but they sure are tame. They follow me around the house, and then when I go back the other way, I have tissue in hand, lol!

I will probably be picking up a new Blue Wheaten Marans roo next week in HS if all goes as planned, so I can drop them off to you then. My roo I have on my BYC page has injured his leg and can't seem to breed. My daughter says she thinks she saw him manage two times, but I've been watching like a hawk and haven't seen him be able to. I feel so bad for him.

I'll let you know for sure when I find out.
