I emailed the person that has the BC Marans on Craigslist. They said the lineage is from someone in Florida and someone in California. I figured I didn't need them. I got some little ones at Lonsdale Auction last weekend, not sure of their lineage but for the price I got them I figured I can let them grow and see what I get.

it looks like we have the exact opposite problem. I have a ton of room and only 2 hens and a roo not old enough to lay/crow. We live on a really old property with alot of out buildings. The indoor area I have for the chickens now was a smoke house at one time all we did was built a run outside. There is another building that I suspect was once an outhouse that would take just a little work to convert. All I need are some darn chickens!!!

Those Golden cuckoo's can be sexed as day olds. Thats why there are different colors.

I'm not sure how to tell the difference with the Goldens, but I will try and get a pic of mine and show you the difference between boy and girl.
