Man I would love some rabbits, but my wife would kick my rear if I did it this summer, we have those muscovies hatching in 10 days and if I added another project animal she would tear into me.
OK here is a pic of ALL of the polish chicks together. Like I said 4 or 5 of these will be coming with us to the meetup. We are not sure which ones yet. They are about 3 1/2 weeks old.
from left to right we have:
blue smooth, lav frizzle, blk frizzle, blue frizzle, blk smooth, lav frizzle, blk smooth, blue frizzle
Not sure which are from which eggs at this point (the eggs were marked), but they came from 3 sets of unrelated parents. One parent in each pair was a frizzle and the other smooth. At least that's the info I was given from the breeder I got the eggs from. They are starting to look super nice. Just thought I would get you all itching for some top hats
Unrelated item. I built a feeder this afternoon with scrap wood I had and 2 sections of plexi I got for $3 each at Home Depot on clearance for being scratched up. Only other thing I bought was 2 sections of gutter guard for like $1.25 each. I was not going for any size in particular, but it just happens to hold 50lbs of layena pellets perfectly. I made a little section in the middle for support, but it allows for oyster shell to be fed, which is cool. Took me about an hour to make. Not bad for a summer after work project that cost under $10.
