Arkansas folks speak up.........

Yes, she's ok. DH was out there and witnessed her nabbing the girl and he sent her sailing...called me out there for backup and I read her the rights..you have the right to no more kitty kibble if you EVER rouch another hen..you have the right to die a slow and painful death if you so much as twitch your tail at my hens...you have the right to get your butt in the house and forever be banned to a kitty litter box!!!

I know she's a predator. I've always suspected that she'd nab my uno chick if given the chance, but up until this point, she's never attempted to grab one of my big girls. I'll be ever so vigilant in the future and make sure that she's in the house when my girls are ranging. Bad kitty.

Chickytocks, I think your cat was bored and just playing. It probably seemed like a fun thing at the time. Keep us posted as to if the kitty keeps this up. Seems like carrying a squirt gun around might be a great idea.

rbamterry... It is the 3rd Sat of every month

What does the average chicken sell for? ...or I might should ask.....After you pay the commission, would you get enough to make it worth the time and gas to take them there? ...or is it more of a buyer's market?

I thought about going to see if they had anything I wanted, but I was afraid the price might go too high and I couldn't buy anything.

I'd also thought about selling, but figured the price of gas would eat up anything I made.

...not too optimistic am I? Lol!

Oh, and I love your ducks! I'd like to get some eggs next year.

That is the thing - some birds - go for as little as $1.50 and then I have seen them go for as high as $25 each. Most laying hens go from $8 - $13. You just never know.
I picked up the polish pair for $4 each -- can't beat that. But there was some that I wanted but there was 4 and they went for $14 each -and they were oeg.

Well, sounds like it might be worth selling some if you had enough to sell to make it worth the trip. I might try to go next time, and maybe I'll have a little money to spend. I'd like to find some d'Uccle hens, and Giant Cochins.

Oh, did you get any (or see any) OEG in Red Pyle?...or OEG bantams even? I got one little bantam from De, and would like a female or two for him. Just wondering if you ever see that color.
