Big, ugly and black. DH thinks he was just striking to get the roo to move but it still makes me very uneasy. Lettting the chickens out in the morning used to be one of my favorite things to do and this morning I was scared to be out there. I am goin to buy moth balls in bulk on Tuesday. My 2 year old was upset cause I left him in the gate on the porch while I tended to the chickens.

I bet it was a black Rat snake. I hate them. We always relocate them far away. I'm lucky. Haven't seen one all year. Good luck on the snake.
