Yay tornados sirens! Just what we needed!

Everybody! Batten down the chickens!! So far we've had 3 touch down within 5 miles of the house.

The other coop is set in concrete and I used 1" tin nails on the roof so I think it'll hold.

I am brand new to all of this! i bought 6 assorted red chicks from tsc last friday. They are doing very well so far. Trying to soak up all the info i can.

Might I suggest you go to the Learning Center at the top of this page and do some reading there. Lots of good topics. Also, learn how to use the Search feature in the blue line above. And most important, never be afraid to post a question, even if you are sure it has been asked a thousand times before. That is how this forum operates.

Wow, what a night last night! I hope everyone and thier chickens are ok. We didn't get any twisters near the house but we could hear three different sirens and they evacuated the college. I did go and checked on my chickens last night when I got home and found all of them (including Eva) warm and dry in the coop. That thing weighs a ton so I wasn't worried about it flying to Kansas with my birds!

As far as Eva gose, she has been going up and down with her sickness. Zach went out while I was at work to check on them and give Eva a special omlet I made for her (egg, ham and cabbage). Zach said she gobbled it right up! And then she flew down out of the coop and was fighting with the other chickens for thier share of the ham. I am very happy to know she is eating. She gets another warm bath tonight to clean her off and to help massage the fluid out of her belly.

I am hope she will continue to get better and not take another downward turn for the worst.
