Arkansas folks speak up.........

Our Texas Jumbo Pharoah Quail have hatched!

We have a few stranglers that may or may not hatch, but so far we have 38 hatched. One is a bit odd. It is very dark with black legs and feet, all but one pink toe. (Is this a Tuxedo?)The others think it is worm or something and keeps trying to eat the pink toe. Here are the photos. The first is of the dark chick. We won 52 eggs. Seller shipped 64. Only 49 developed chicks. So far today 38 have hatched. We are still hoping for the remaining.

Of the BLRW's? or the vent sexing? lol Sorry, that's how my mind works.

Ethan found a quail egg in Amanda's box of Corturnix quail and she let him have it. Can you believe that he made it all the way home without breaking it? It's in the incubator. I don't know what we'll do if it hatches. I gotta stop taking him with me.

Oh no, you can't leave him behind! He had such a wonderful time! He was telling me about his eggs at home and looking at my turkey eggs. Bet your hubby would love turkeys!

He did have a great time. He ran everywhere and I couldn't keep up with him. He let one of Mr. Jordan's chicks fly out of the box and we had to chase her down. Luckily, I was able to catch her right away.

LOL Jen my DH talked me out of those turkey eggs. He's got the most sense of the both of us. He says what would we do with turkeys and where would we house them?!

Ok...then how about some ducks? Geese? Quail?? No..no..no.. Pfft. Can I have the coop and run? No, you'd just put ducks in it.

Dang man.

Congrats Urban! I love, love, love to find first eggs by new layers. It's what chicken keeping for me is all about.

Wow Jim! What a bunch of quailios! And a new dog! Congrats to you all! You're going to be very busy.

My little serama that I got yesterday at the meetup, she laid another egg this morning! I'm so stinking excited to finally have a laying serama! Maybe she can teach Molly a thing or two. That's two eggs in two days.

I'm going to hold out hope for at least one more tomorrow and if I get another, I'll hold out another day for another egg.
