Had a great time at the Drew County 4-H Poultry Club meeting. Thanks Jen Scott for bringing the Buckeye roosters, both Large Fowl and Bantam. It was great to see a comparison. Even the County Agent was impressed with the size difference. We had 7 kids and lots of adults! Will elect officers next month!

Hey guys/gals! Hello from Searcy!
Just curious if y'all could give me any info. I'm wanting to get a few chickens in the next couple weeks. Possibly 4-5 hens and a Rooster. Is there anywhere here in Arkansas that sells chickens other than going to the local sale barn? Looking to get some Bantams. Some that aren't too old, but laying age. I may try the raising from chicks sometime, but would like to forgo that right now.
I would LOVE to find some Sebrights, they are gorgeous. But have seen other lines that I like as well.
Any info is greatly appreciated!

did you try craigslist.com for white county? i find a lot of birds on the craigslist for fayetteville (which is near me).

Yep, I know where Floyd is. In fact, I fell off the bluffs right past there when I was 19. Long story...

Thanks for your help. I also just joined the Arkansas Backyard Poultry meetup group. Looks like they are centered around Little Rock. Did a quick search on Craigslist and they showed up on there.

Welcome! I know at this past meeting, they were talking about holding the next meeting either north of LR or south...hopefully North this next time so those further up won't have to drive so far. I'm sure you'll find some layers either in the meetup group or here by just asking around. Good luck!
