I live in the Bauxite/Sardis area. Due to financial strains we are going to have to see our chickens. We have Cuckoo marans 1 rooster and 3 hens, Buff Orphington 1 rooster and 1 hen, Phoenix 1 rooster and 1 hen and a chick, 4 silkie hens and 1 showgirl hen, samantra rooster, 1 hen americana full size and a hen americana bantam and I have several mutts. I will take $10 each of pure breed. I can't think of what else I have but if you are interested email me at [email protected]

What part of the Sardis area are you in? I live on Bluebird-Sardis just across from McPherson Rd.

I am trying to avoid the mail order since hubby isn't thrilled with the shipping cost! I have several breeds I am interested in and just one 1 or 2 of each and prefer to start off with chicks pellets...... I live in Conway, AR and breeders around me? or any ideas???
breeds interested in
Barred Plymouth Rock or Dominique
Buff Orpington
Australorp
Easter Egger
Brahma
Molted Houdan

Congrats! I understand the dancing in the rain! I am in Stuttgart and it got pretty bad for a little while. I have 8 ducks ( 4 mallards, 2 muskovy, 1 pekin, 1 fawn runner) I let them out of their houses around 6:30 each morning and they free range all day - while I'm at work. I put them in the pen around 7:30 and then lock them up for the night around 8:30 or so. I have never had a problem with them leaving my back yard - they never even go to the front yard, but yesterday the rain must have soaked their brains!! As I was driving home in the pouring rain, about 1/2 mile from my house, what do I see? all 8 of them swimming down the ditch that had filled with rain water!!! I went home, got my rubber boots, rain coat, etc. (not that it did any good - I still got soaked!) I had to park, get out, "herd" them back toward the house - get back in, move my vehicle, do it again....about 15 times - I very easily could have had roasted duck for supper - If I'd had any electricity!! Gotta love ducks!!

I had a fairborad meeting and then joined my family at a Karen Peck/New River concert at our church last night. When I got home, the ducks and geese were overwhelmingly loud! Even the Muscovy Ducks were making noise! Rain water everywhere. Our LGD, Buddy, was sitting under the waterfowl shed trying to stay dry.
