Arkansas folks speak up.........

Well the trip went great got to meet allot of great ppl... Wish I had time to visit more but Ohh well... I am just laying down in bed I have been up sence 2:30 pm yesterday so pretty wore out lol... I just finneshed putting 63 Houdan eggs and 24 Salmon Fav's eggs in my incubator... Fingers crossed that we get a good hatch... If not I'm already planing another trip up there my wife informed me that we are going to go to a razorbacks game yet this year... Of course I said sure as long as I can stop and get more eggs along the way lmao... Good night folks Elias

I use the red and white plastic ones from TSC. I made water heaters out of metal Christmas cookie tins with a 40 watt light bulb inside (plans from this site) and set the waterers on top of the cookie tins...water doesn't freeze. The only issue is the cookie tins gave to be level or your water will run out. I did have to use 60 watt bulbs once in Tennessee when it got down to less than 10 degrees.

haha will do....i am working all night and leaving strait from work at 6am when i get off... so ill pro be pretty tiered by the time i see you lol...

Hurray! It's raining. It's funny my 12 week olds and 6 week olds have no idea how to react to this stuff. First major rain that has happened during the day when they were out since they have been around.

Folks, we better get ready to batten down our Arkansas hatches! Hurricane Isaac is coming!

It looks like it may be all the way up here where I am maybe Thurday. I have a broody hatching then so there may be a bit of a challenge with the rain, but I'll take the rain with no hesitation at all.

There is always a possiblility of some severe weather with these things, but by the time it gets here, I think it will mostly just be rain.

I've got kids and a grand-daughter on the Gulf Coast that are just going to ride this one out. The winds are not all that strong though they could knock power out. Tidal surge will cause some problems in unprotected places, but the predictions are really not all that severe compared to some. We will propbably see some dramatic videos from this down there, especially in Mississippi and Alabama. But this is a wet system that is moving slowly. A whole lot of rain is goiing to fall down there and likely up here.

There are always risks with these things, but this one does not concern me that much for my kids and grand-kid. I think they will be fine. I lived down there and went through a bunch like this without evacuating. It's about being prepared and using sense.

I think flooding from heavy rain is what we need to be preparing for up here much more than for heavy wind. At least that's how I'm going to approach it.
