around 24+ weeks and no eggs! whats up?

this is my mystery girl, she's pretty small, about 10 inches from chest to tail, her comb is black so it looks purple now.

these are the two production reds, one of the two behind them got lost a few days ago and the one directly behind them is one of my two roosters, he is a brahama mut.

this is my mystery boy, his comb has gotten bigger since this picture and he has gotten a deeper more glossy red.

my austrolorp girl is the one front and center.

their names are, roran, katrina, angela, star, peace, and elva.

Just because it is fall, doesn't mean that they wont lay until spring. Most hatchery birds will lay decently through the winter even if they're due to start in fall. I'm guessing that your production reds will start laying soon. They actually look younger than 24 weeks to me. I have some 18 week pullets that are due to start laying at any time and most of them already have pronounced combs and wattles. Are you sure on their ages?

Interesting. Well I would guess that they should start laying soon. Also, are you planning on keeping both roos? 2 roosters are too many for 4 hens, your hens are going to get ruffed up pretty quick.

i want to get rid of both of them but my mom refuses to let me put out an ad for one and doesn't want to kill either of them so she keeps telling my dad to build a new coop :p i used to have 5 hens and 4 roosters but then I lost one with a hen, then I got a new rooster, then he got killed and another one went missing, so who knows if these two will last..... so unless something happens to them I will keep them.

Those are some pretty birds. Do you let them freerange? They may be hiding eggs! My hens get really sneaky. Today, actually, I found two hidden eggs. Sneaky girls! If possible keep them in for the day or atleast most of it and see what happens eggwise. The one that went missing could have possibly went off to make a nest. Just watch for her within the month and see if she comes back. I once had this beautiful golden bantam cochin that disappeared. I was so worried but one day I found her hiding with eggs under her and not long after that she brought home eight little cuties.

the one that went missing was a rooster that had been attacked by a dog three days earlier, his ribs were in pieces so I don't think he lived.... or that he would be laying any eggs :p when they range I keep an eye on them at all times so its not possible for them to be hiding any eggs.

same here and my dad wants an explanation to why his chickens arn't laying any eggs for him.
