Well yes, I agree. If I find a bunch of incorrect information then I will mention that, but there aren't many like that.I agree that it is good to try to keep ratings / reviews positive, but I also think that they should be a good way to sort good information from bad. For example, an article full of blatant misinformation would get a very low rating from me, even if it had good grammar.
We have added notices at the top of the articles section explaining where questions should be posted, but it happens anyway. The site will always be too complex for some people to understand / be able to use properly, but I think we have made it quite usable for most people.I know I posted this thread awhile ago, but I just had a new thought.
Sometimes new members are confused and don't know they are posting an article. They think it's a thread sometimes. For example: Newbie person posts an article and was meant to be a thread....and they say "this is my coop" and post a picture..... and that's all. Now, that's a find thread! But an article? Probably not. Then, people come along a rate and review the article 1 star and say "won't you add detail?" or "this would be a better thread".
Well, why not just PM the person or post in the comment section below and tell them nicely: "Hello, nice picture of your coop! You will probably get more replies and have more people see your picture of you post this as a thread, not an article.".... or something like that. Also explain to them how to post a thread.
