Assisted Hatch getting worse....

I agree Nutridrench is excellent! Pedialyte is good also.
As far as the crusty, warm water and a cotton ball usually work for me. Once they are active, they usually rub most everything off themselves, so I try to only mess with the vital stuff. Clear the eye so she can open it and don't bother with the rest until she is stronger.
How are her legs now?

I would get some Nutri Drench into it ASAP and switch to having that in the water instead of molasses. A few drops directly into the beak too. It gets right into the bloodstream and gives them a boost immediately.

Helping chicks hatch a lot of time results in healthy happy chicks that just had issues due to incubation errors. However sometimes there are really weak ones that had a reason for not hatching that wasn't due to incubation trouble. Those sometimes don't make it. Hopefully this one pulls through and is just tired from a long and stressful hatch.

A tiny bit of molasses is good. It serves the same purpose as sugar in the water to revive a weak chick with the additional benefit of conditioning the intestines. Too much will cause runny poop, but that's secondary to giving the chick something to start its engine.

Molasses is the base for Nutri-drench, by the way. As long as you can encourage this chick to drink and swallow, there's hope. Focus on hydrating it right now.

That's what I thought..molasses is the base to ND. I've helped a chick once and shouldn't have...it ended up dying. Brain formed outside the scull. Things happen beyond our control..we try out best for our beloved birds..I wish you the best outcome, no matter what it may be..

I like to start my chicks (seramas mostly) with some fruit flavored gatoraid in their water. Im not sure why. hahaa They are attracted to the red I guess and it has sugar and the electrolytes in it. I use about 1/4th cup to a liter. Stains their fuzz under their mouth .

It's ok. She passed on her own at 3:30....leaving me in a puddle of tears I didn't know I was quite capable of. I don't know how you do this all the time.

Thanks for your help!
