Hello everyone, I'm seeking advice what to do with my sick hen. She's an 18 month old rescue hen (Lohmann brown) and such a sweet girl, I really don't want to lose her. It all started 2 days ago when she stood all lethargic and I noticed a soft egg hanging from her butt. I gently pulled it out and gave her some calcium but the next day she was still lethargic. This morning I noticed that her crop hadn't gone down at night and was really hard so I figured it was a hard crop blockage. I took her to an avian vet who told me he can't do much but give her a muscle relaxer and an antibiotic. When we came home it got worse and the hard crop turned into a mushy sour crop full of liquid of which she vomited some out. Shes now separated with water and some hard boiled egg and I'm completely at my wits end what to do now. I wish I could save her. Has anyone got some tips for me? 😢

If she's a high production breed, it maybe a reproduction issues and often there's not much you can do.
Have you started treating the sour crop?
Yes she's a high production breed... I've started treating the sour crop with nystatin to get rid of the fungal infection and massaged her a bit
