I have a Mallard duckling that's about 5 weeks old now. It's starting to get a pretty shiny dark green color on its back and it has some feathers that are black with a light brown outline. I will take pics later and post them, but I was just wondering if anyone knew?...

Oh okay... Is it true that when the feathers first start coming in, that the males and the females will have the same color pattern? Which also look more like a mature females color pattern?

What colour is the beak? Drakes will have a green beak and females will have an orange and brown beak.
I am not sure if the colour would of come in by now tho.

What does its quack sound like? Females have a loud clear quack while males are raspy and sound like they have a sore throat.
