At which age will a Rooster start crowing?

Well my rocks at just over 4 weeks and I have heard nothing but the trilling. My pullets I have heard the bawk bawk but nothing out of my 2 roosters. I could tell they were rooster very early as they had big combs when 2 weeks old. They now are getting in the red wattles but now crowing. Ca not wait to hear that and see my dogs reaction.

I had banty roosters that "trilled" at 2 weeks and I could not figure out what they were doing. My Silver-laced Wyandotte was a hen until SHE crowed at 2 months...

My Br. roo crowed his first at 18 weeks. Well, it was interesting. He sounded more like a dog moaning. Actually thats what I thought it was. Really. Now he is about 19 weeks old and has it almost down. I love the sound I get each am now. Gloria Jean

My rooster, we call him "Mr. Rooster" was 18 weeks yesterday and the hens chit chat and make more noise than he does. I hope he is not confused being the only rooster out of a total of 10 chickens.

My BR Roo is 4 months old, 'bout twice a week I hear a muffled noise that somewhat resembles crowing. He extremely peaceful and well mannered too. I can't have roosters where I live, so I tell him everyday if crows he will lose his comfy home. Must be working!

When my RIR roo first started crowing, for the first couple of weeks he sounded exactly like a baby elephant. Everyone thought it was the cutest thing, and it was.

My Silkie had a nice crow this morning. Though he may have been practicing, and I just haven't heard him, though I'm outside all the time and they are right by the house. *shrug*

Mine are starting to make different noises at 9 weeks. Their squawks are deeper and throatier. I think their voices are changing. I am still waiting for a crow though.

My blue andalusian is 10 weeks old, and we are still waiting. I am excited about hearing him, but at the same time, we DO live in town, so the longer he is silent the better! We have no restrictions on having roosters, but I don't want my neighbors to hate me either.
