Attn. all members! The cancer center needs hats!

Here is what I have so far.

The purple/black one is the one my daughter wanted me to make - I think its too big for her anyway.
The brown one is from the pattern Iposted this afternoon - I did change it a little - I lined the hat with the same fabric (minky)

If anyone has fleece pieces they're not going use, I could do with a few more - the pattern I think needs 1 yard to make 4 hats. I'm lining it so I'm not sure how much I'm using, but it you have a piece thats at least 20-25 inches wide across (stretch) please let me know.
Thank you!

I think its pretty much all sizes. I would imagine there are slightly more adults. But there are certainly kids that need them too.

The crochet hat is started with an adjustable loop.

12 DC into the loop.
1st round: 2DC into each stitch.
2nd round: *1dc, 2dc into next* repeat to end (join each with a sl st)
3rd round: *1dc, 1dc, 2dc into next* repeat to end
4th round: 1dc, 1dc, 1dc, 2dc into next - repeat to end.
5th - 14th: dc in each stitch
15th: sc around and finish off.

For the purple and black hat, I kept going for three more rounds in dc before I did the sc round, so it has a little "brim"

That's cute. I should make those for my boys in green, and put a red feather on them. They are hung up on Peter Pan right now, and are always running around pretending to be him. They made paper hats, but they didn't last long.

Very quick to make, even with lining as I did. I'm thinking of changing it up for the next one.
That brown one I cut out one as the pattern is, then made a lining cutting up to the "HEM" line on that pattern, and sewed them together leaving a hole to turn it right side out.

Next one I think I'll make the "Lining" and the outer the same length (half way between the edge and the hem line on that pattern) then when you fold the brim part up you can have a different color show - they can be reversable...

You'd have to use a thin fleece or something else if its being lined or it will be way to thick. That minky fabric I used is super baby soft - and I HAD to line it or it would have had BUMPS where the seams are and it might have felt scratchy on a head.
