ATTN: BLR Wyandotte breeders

Yes, the wyandotte kessage board is listed on Feather Site. There is also the BLRW page there that might help. I was also able to find the yahoo group for BLRW for people interested in breeding this color line. Here is the link.

Some time one has to do a bit of deep searching to find the yahoo groups that are listed in the Tech area. Good luck.

Ok, I am here to help, lol. The cockerel is a splash, if you look at his tail, it has 2 different colors in it, dark blue/black, and light blue. The hen has decent type, she looks alittle like a plymouth rock tho, she could use more loose feathering, her tail should be at a 30 degree tail angle, it looks lower than that. Her comb isnt correctly shaped, it should be more like the roos, and not be so round then thin, also it souldnt have that wrinkle thing in the front. The roo looks nice, has a a large body, his tail needs to be filled out but it will come with time. It seems that alot of BLR breeders are too worried about the color and not worried at all about type. Without type, you dont have a wyandotte, its just a blue laced red bird. As far as breeding them together, since they are both splash, you will get all splash chicks. You could breed them together and get a black laced red next year to breed the pullet chicks to. Black to splash or black to blue is the best way to go.

YES! That was exactly what I needed to hear! Thanks!! The roo is still prety young, i believe his tail will fill in over time. So I could get a black laced from this pair? Thanks for the critique!!

You are most welcome. I suggest you join the national wyandotte club since they will able to help you the most. If you really serious on producing these birds it is the only way to go for the best help. Best of luck to you and your breeding project.

Sorry if I confused you, I meant that you should get a black laced red to cross to your chicks next year, since they will all be splash. If you buy a black laced red, cross it to your splash laced reds, you will get 100% blue laced reds.
