Pics
All 4 Marans that made it to lockdown are externally pipped! It's looking pretty dry in there though so I'm watching closely...:fl

Im quite happy as it appears i have 5 hens out of the 6
Oh my they’re so big!!!! And GORGEOUS!

Day 13. I kept my one questionable egg in and turns out... There's movement inside of it. We'll see what happens when they hatch next week. This is SUPPOSED to be my last hatch of the year..... But I really want to get some Delaware eggs from dawnridge :drool
Do it do it do it.:idunno

I have had so many hatches where I said this is my last hatch of the year/season etc... and I can't stop! so I started selling chickens when they start laying and eating the males. only keeping those I intend to breed.
I’ve even given a few away in a big lot to make room to hatch more this year. :jumpy

Lol, Good luck to both of you. I have done the same. I keep saying I'm done hatching this year. I even put away a couple Incubators...one is already back out. :lau

I'm trying to talk my daughter into just that. I THINK my "Olive egger" is laying brown. So she's on my list to go. And I just listed a young duck hen today as she is not breeding quality from my June hatch.

all 9 chicks were alive in the morning. the one that struggles with balance and walking is still struggling but full of energy. I hand hatch the little fellow/gal a bit too soon. Seems to have some bleeding around the wing from me pulling away the membrane. This is why I rarely pull it off unless the membrane is locking up a wing or leg making them immobile. I am going to dab a bit of Neosporin (actually equate brand because I am cheap!) on that wing today. He has bad balance still and when I check on him I put him up by the water. Make sure he stays hydrated as he struggles to get his (or her) legs under him (or her) ... I am just referring to them as Him or he until they lay eggs. That way I can be happy I am wrong. Actually with some birds I want males because I need males from some generations to breed. ok I am rambling.. I ramble when I am happy and I am very happy with this hatch despite a large majority of infertile eggs. I was able to find a rooster was infertile and he was the 2nd rooster in the first place so no loss. All the Naked Necks going into Lock Down survived and are full of energy. just over 50% of Seramas hatched and they have some sort of Creeper Gene I know little about but it means they die before they hatch so its a great hatch in my mind. Now I gotta go change out waters and fill feeders in the June/July hatch brooders.
