August Hatch-A-Long

I have a broody Serama who should be hatching any day now, I wanted to reach under her and see if I could find a little peeper but then I realized that is in "Lock Down" and I should just check in a couple of days. Not sure how things work with hens but I am certain that if I do not touch her or the eggs I won't break anything. I have a 2nd broody Serama also but thats a September Hatch

I went to check my broody during “lockdown” and she was off the nest (like she new she was about to be busy) and so I candled the eggs and then I picked one up on top of the pip and thought I cracked it.

:-( I had to let my sick hen go today. Such a huge, huuuuge bummer. Im thinking of moving my orpington hatches from the 1st out with mama and babies to give me something to do. We will see if she loses it, but I think I can get them some easy protection. Ill update later if I try.

None of the hens seems to have a problem with the babies of mama, anyway. She lets two or three of them around them freely, but keeps the others at a little distance, but they aren't interested anyway. I think it will be fine. :fl
Awww, I’m so sorry about your hen, Jolenesdad!!!:hit

Has anyone seen anything like this? This is my aug 1 hatch chick. I have not noticed any pecking at all. First the tail, and then I turned her around and the feathers coming in on her crop are also bloody...

Do you think she rubbed them on something?

Should I separate her or just watch? Vetericyn?
