August Hatch-A-Long!

They are not RIR or Buttercups or Barred Rocks, or Turkens, or Wyandottes, not Australops, not Dominiques, ....so I know one is a Welsummer, other 2 are either leghorns or Sussex, could be Orpington, but they are real yellow. Here is a leghorn chick.
That looks more like their legs but mine also have a butterscotch color thrown in...could be a leghorn X.

I think I am losing one :( Its the one I have the least hope for - the one with the yolk and feet over its head :( It just started gasping and panting. I got it out to see if there was anything I could do. But the major veins have not absorbed and because of its positioning they are on the top instead of bottom :( I offered a little sav-a-chic in an dropper and it took a few sips, then I even offered some egg yolk/water and it took some. It doesn't appear to be absorbing its own yolk much at all :(

That is awesome you can get the chick to drink. My assisted one didn't absorb all of her yoke, only about half. But she did absorb all of her blood from the veins though. Keeping you both in my positive thoughts!

Off topic a little...I ordered some day old silkie chicks that were supposed to be delivered by Friday, but I just got a tracking update today and now they are going to be delayed until Saturday! That means they will be 4 to 5 days old when they arrive. I am so worried that there are going to be severely dehydrated and/ or dead when they arrive :'(

Have you ever expirenced such a thing? If you have, any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
