Ha ha ha!

I don't know the size of your community, mine is very small (population under 450 in our town and less than 800 in the nearby town). But if I posted a flyer on a public bull item board about an egg swap, I bett I would get some takers from chicken people I've not even met yet.
People here are very different. I can't explain it. There was a lady that tried to set up a swap/picnic. Lots of people said they wanted it, she even had it by the biggest whiners because they didn't want to drive far. I drove 2 hours. None of the whiners showed up. In fact only a handful of people and none of them brought the food they agreed to. I brought 3/4 of the food. Noone brought hatching eggs and only one person brought chickens to sale but they were wild. Couldn't be held.
One of my little Polish has no eyes! She was an assisted hatch because she was upside down.

Can it eat? Can it hear? Would it be ok if it grew up in a pen?

Carolinahen: I think she should be alright... :) my polish has a crest that totally covers her eyes and she is fine, although not as aware of her surroundings...

What method do you use to keep track of so many on different hatch schedules?
I know you weren't asking me but this is how I do it. I also put reminders on my phone calander and I have a notebook. You'd think there would be no way I could forget. But I have 3 eggs a friend gave me, she didn't think her rooster was old enough. In the guinea fiasco (and I forgot to put an alarm on the reminder), I put the 3 eggs in lockdown on day 20. I was worried but there is one cheeping and has pipped. Woo hoo! Maybe my bad spell is over. Or maybe I can only hatch mixed chicks.

Thanks
especially under a broody it could go longer because they let them cool sometimes...but it will be with in days not too long ....haha....post pics right away I have red heritage turkey going in this week...I haven't done turkey before...but I've gotten peafowl to hatch so I hope it goes well!!! shh don't tell my husband...as usual he doesn't know about the 100's of eggs I'm expecting this week

thanks for the advice

i have a a baby button quail chick! dont know how long its been out of its egg but it still looks pretty wet so i guess not to long...cant wait for the other to hatch! this one is yellow so it'll be white when feathers come in. been ignoring the bator as best as i can...only walked by a few times in the last day to make sure temp and humidity was good the i left as i learned from last time that standing there hovering doesn't make them hatch faster....even though i was very hard to keep away from the bator

hope a couple more hatch..there are 7 eggs and ones hatched so hopefully a few more will hatch out soon.
