August Hatch-A-Long!

Deanna- I have one with same thing right now but opposite side. It tries to walk but is wobbly. I don't really know what to do for it. Is there anything you're doing to helpt out?
I read several ways to fix it. The first picture is my chick. The other chicks are other ways I found.

My little runt died about 30 mins ago. My husband went to check on him and he was gone. Idk why... or how.

I'm sorry!

my little baby is getting weaker...I've been giving it electrolytes with a dropper but it's waning...if it moves around a lot it gets really out of breath and it's not interested in food...so beside not being able to see it's just sickly

I just woke up to my first pip!! It is not fully open, and I don't hear peeping. Is that normal? There isn't a hole in the shell it is a small spot of shell kind of pushed up with the tiny crack lines in it. I'm as nervous as a hoochie in church!!

The chick will be resting after using all its energy to pip...it will most likely take a good few hours before it attempts to unzip

My little blind one is heading down this road I fear. She runs, chirps, grooms herself, but won't peck. She won't even attempt food or water on her own

Many good thoughts for her--I'm kind of attached to her myself, as silly as that is. Hopefully someone has ideas on how to get her eating/drinking. Have you tried plopping her down into a flat dish full of food? Maybe if she feels the crumbles under her feet, she'll start pecking at it. I know Squinty would bump into his water/feeder all the time, almost like he knew what they felt like, and once he touch them he knew that there was food/water there.

One of the two that I pipped for last night is out, about 20 minutes ago! It has curled toes and I will have to put a boot on it when it fluffs up. And another one, not the second assisted pip, was out when I got up this morning.

She doesn't even try to peck. We have put her on top of the food, dipped her face in the food as well as the water. She will eat or drink whatever ends up on her beak, but does not attempt to peck or drink on her own. She will peck at the sides of the brooder to get her bearings and follow the sides of it around to where the other chicks are though. She will find another chick, lay her head on it's back and follow them around as well. She is very smart and adaptable. If we could only get her to attempt eating and drinking on her own I think she would be OK. I just have absolutely no idea how to get her to peck at food and water other than by dipping her beak into it.
