Yay!! Congrats!! They are so cute!!
That's awful. It's a horrible feeling to have to watch them as they struggle. Makes you feel like you're not doing enough. even tho it's out of your hands.I'm sorry!![]()
my little baby is getting weaker...I've been giving it electrolytes with a dropper but it's waning...if it moves around a lot it gets really out of breath and it's not interested in food...so beside not being able to see it's just sickly![]()
Thank you @bantamlover124. I assisted it's hatch. Could that be why? Seems like the ones I assisted all died. It was going to be small regardless bc of the size of the egg, but after 4 days it was about half the size of it's siblings. My remaining 4 are strong and growing like weeds. So I'm thankful for that.I am sorry about your runt, did you hand-hatch it,because I once had a runt, and I hand hatched it. Then it mysteriously died...

So sorry...I hope the rest of your little chicks make it![]()
I already posted pictures. I haven't checked again. I am trying not to stare. I will post more when I have new babies.. I can't wait to see your pictures!! Yay!! Congrats!!![]()
I have a question about my roller. He's been rolling around for over 24 hours now. It's only day 20. This is still normal for no pip?
My two rollers in my first hatch did that for 2 days before they finally pipped. I guess they were wiggling trying to get in the right position. Didn't you say you set yours on the 1st, same as me? So they are not due to hatch until tomorrow. I am so anxious for this last 8 to hatch! I don't think mine are even rocking yet. I haven't seen it if they have.
This is terrible to say b/c they do have a problem but that black chick ...with the bad toes?...the shoes ...he looks so adorable with those shoes on.!! I know yours has the same but cant see as well...

I think I'm done assisting. I figure if it's meant to be it will be. When I culled 2 and then mentioned to my husband about the little runt he said "that's enough Dr. Kovorkian."That makes perfect senseI too had to assist two little bantam chicks and both were half of the size of the others. One died and the other was tiny but healthy, I rehomed them so I don't know how they are doing right now![]()

I like that " executive decision" dont know what liquid drench is but i always give mine some water with a little dab of boiled egg and a tiny pinch of sugar (Like sugar added as ups their energy) and sometimes one or 2 crumbles of food..but its got to be all liquid not semi . It does give them strengthI have been keeping the humidity at 70%. It was still up to 80% after the hatch. I misted water thru the air hole and barely lifted the lid and pulled them both out. These are the healthies chicks I've had other than the foot. I have tried 3 different types of splintsbut the chick gets them all off in 5 minutes. individule toes, hole foot on a hard surface and whole foot on a semi hard surface. I think i will try physical therapy. I will carefully straighten the foot with my fingers over and over again. The elbow looks off but the upper leg works. It looks like there is already a callus built up on the elbow but the chick just hatched.
THe humidity was high so I pulled them. It did not even get down to 70%. I do have some pips but I made an executive decision. I would never be able to carry my incubator with all of those eggs and glasses of water to the bathroom.
I don't know if it will help but has helped me a lot, I add nutri drench and liquid B vitamins to warm water and drip it slowly on the beak. A few drops every hour until the chick eats consistently on its own.
