I'm sorry!

my little baby is getting weaker...I've been giving it electrolytes with a dropper but it's waning...if it moves around a lot it gets really out of breath and it's not interested in food...so beside not being able to see it's just sickly

I am sorry about your runt, did you hand-hatch it,because I once had a runt, and I hand hatched it. Then it mysteriously died... Sweetappleacres: So sorry...I hope the rest of your little chicks make it

Hello I had hatch-a-longs about 3 days ago
It is always best to collect them your self not through the post and I have hatched my self
Pekin's and leg bars another 1 not sure what breed
But she/he are very cheeky

I think, the leg bars and pekin's look roughly the same apart from pekin's are smaller

This morning I hand hatched the last 2 quail eggs. Its been 48 hours since they piped so all 3 of us were ready. 1 came out clean. No blood or yolk. The other had a teeny drop of blood but no yolk. I feel badly about that one but between the 2 that one is on iys feet lol. I know the golden rule is blood = STOP and put it back but I felt like the best move was to finish and blot it with a cottom ball. Both were in a weird position with their butts and feet near the air cell and their necks kinda under their leg so I'm thinking they would have never hatched on their own. Its been an hour and they both look a bit stronger so I'm hopeful! Fun story about broken veins....once I assumed after a broody was done hatching that her remaining eggs were all dead. WRONG! One was very muc alive and when I broke it open on a rock it peeped at me. Blood everywhere! That little guy grew up to be a rhode island red roo and now lives with my neighbor lol!

I am so excited today. Finally after all of the problems I've had, it feels great to have the chicks popping out so well. Of the ones that were due yesterday, 2 hatched on time and the other early this moring. Started with 6 in that batch, 2 not fertile, 1 died around day 14. But the other 3 hatched.

I have 13 frizzle cochin bantams due today. 3 already hatched and 4 pips.

I still have 9 silkies and 8 Australorps also due today. No pips yet but I'm crossing my fingers.
