sounds like a rough day am sorry, your eggs will probably be okay as long as the chick didn't lose too much blood, all you can do is wait I know it's stressful !!Ok I can not breathe!! After my first hatch I went outside to check on my coop chickens and I heard my daughter scream, our kitten accidentally pulled the bator down in the floor and our chick and 2 unhatched eggs were on the floor, one was bleeding bad, the other just badly cracked all over. I immediately got the chick and put her in the ready brooder/aquarium. And then put the badly cracked egg back in the bator. After I got the mess cleaned up I went back and checked the egg. I found a tiny hole in outer membrane and could see it was drying inside so I spritz it with water and my DH helped me make our best attempt on sealing it up with candle wax. It was moving inside and is now back in the bator with good temps and humidity. My little hatchling is snuggling a panda beenie baby and is quite chirpy. I held her in a towel against me to finish drying her. I cannot believe all of this happened. And to ice my cake our dog got my sweet love EE Roo chick (9weeks old) today. I have cried half the day away,[/URL]I am feeling a little mowed over. Just hoping for the best now. Any advice on the chick and does my wax egg chick have a chance?![]()
have you opened all the vents? I've heard a container of rice might absorb some moisture...the one you see may just be bigger or started sooner...good lucki am on day 6 of this cycle.
i have 10/11 with veinsbut 1 red ring
i also have one baby whos ahead of the game and was moving yesterday ( day 5), saw his heartbeat on day 4.
i do have a question though. all these eggs have spider veins, but i can only see 1 embryo. im guessing the rest are under the air cell. is this a problem?
also -- how can i lower the humidity. i wanted to try a dry hatch this time, but my humidity is between 50 and 60 already, with no water added.
