Good to know. They are quite adorable and ive heard they are very broody and will hatch anyones eggs.
OK here is my sad story..............

I always get myself in these messes.
I had a chick hatch with only one wing.....................sweet thing..was doing fine being brooded alone.................(never out of my pocket unless my DH held her.)
She was not very interested in food. thought getting another chick may encourage her..............They only had Silkies at the feed store.................. bought two.grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Very cute, very friendly. Thought I would just sell them but now I am hooked..................so had gone to the Silkie thread for advise about keeping them........
I can certainly understand how people get hooked on these little ones..........Still do not know what I am going to do..............

We're in. We just won 30 Speckle Sussex from one of the BYC auction forums. Seller has a very good reputation so we are hoping for some success. Last incubation (2X) was a complete bust so there is nowhere else to go but up.

Great to see everyone on here! Glad so many of you are seeing progress! Not going to make it to TN this weekend, A/C went out on my car, so can't get more eggs for a couple more weeks.....but I have great looking eggs from Rox in the bator right now! They all have veins started, but will do "official" candle on Sunday. 4 Lav Ams, 7 Lav Orps, and 2 BYM.

Not a sad story at all, except the little one born missing a wing. How is that chick? How did the silkies get along with your other chickens? I can see how you would fall for the silkies...they are like miniature goats...just so darn CuTE!!

Just turned and candled our eggs with my son, a few were clear, but we definitely saw some movement in others! Eeeek!

How exciting! Is this your sons first hatching? What a great experience for children. My granddaughter is watching mine. She may not be able to visit on their hatch date so she wants pics sent to her dads phone if she is visiting him.

I've got life in three out of four eggs! Glad I'm doing something right in my first incubation!
