August Hatch-A-Long!

my hubby and I believe one of our little lavender Americanas is blind...it doesn't hardly open it's eyes and when it does they are slits...it just mostly lays...it follows the chirps of the other 4 to try and snuggle but doesn't peck at the food...I've been giving it electrolytes but it's waning...sweet little doll

Nothing this morning. The one on the rear right has cracked the shell but not got a hole made yet. Is that okay? And the roller looks like it's made it through to the air cell but done nothing else. But it also looks like it went through on the highest end of the air cell.

The back right one has a nice chunk of shell it's got opening up. These two are chirping up a storm in there. My roller is no longer rolling. Should I be worried since it was so active yesterday evening?

Oh! Poor little thing! She's adorable though.

Will you cull her or keep her as a special needs chicken? Can she survive like that?
So far she is doing well. We are helping her to find the food and water dishes along with supplimenting by hand feeding. She will find one of the other chicks in the brooder and put her head on their back so she can follow them around. Other than not having eyes, she appears quite healthy and strong. If she makes it, we plan on putting her in with our Silkies

My lockdown is suppose to be Wednesday. The temp inside the bator has been steady at 102 throughout. In the past my chicks hatch early. Should I move up my lockdown?

I would not have my temp so high during incubation. It should be 99.5 to 100.5. Then drop it down a small bit during lockdown. Good luck with your hatch.

i have a a baby button quail chick! dont know how long its been out of its egg but it still looks pretty wet so i guess not to long...cant wait for the other to hatch!  this one is yellow so it'll be white when feathers come in.  been ignoring the bator as best as i can...only walked by a few times in the last day to make sure temp and humidity was good the i left as i learned from last time that standing there hovering doesn't make them hatch faster....even though i was very hard to keep away from the bator

hope a couple more hatch..there are 7 eggs and ones hatched so hopefully a few more will hatch out soon.

Congrats fellow quail mama!! I had 10 hatch yesterday and woke up to 3 more this morning! Still waiting on 2. I hope you have lots of little ones hatch for you

I'm at lockdown with my chicken eggs :). 3 look really good out of the 4. 2 are cochin x egger crosses and one is either a silkie or a silkie cross. Likely the father is my d'uccle roo! The one that I think quit is my daughters old english game hen x cochin bantam cross. But we shall see I guess!
