August Hatch-A-Long!

I don't know what to tell you, except that if it were me...I would pump up the humidity, then quickly grab that chick and fix its foot. Then if humidity is still up there I would quickly put it back. But that is just what "I" would do.
I have been keeping the humidity at 70%. It was still up to 80% after the hatch. I misted water thru the air hole and barely lifted the lid and pulled them both out. These are the healthies chicks I've had other than the foot. I have tried 3 different types of splintsbut the chick gets them all off in 5 minutes. individule toes, hole foot on a hard surface and whole foot on a semi hard surface. I think i will try physical therapy. I will carefully straighten the foot with my fingers over and over again. The elbow looks off but the upper leg works. It looks like there is already a callus built up on the elbow but the chick just hatched.
HI,
Yes the foot will remain pliable.............

.It is a pretty easy fix .Do you know how to do it.
It will be fine if you wait a day or so...if you do decide to pull it out ,this is what I learned to do.
Take the incubator into the bathroom, run the hot water in the shower until the room is steamy, then pluck it out..........
It is really up to you but for heaven sake, don't open the incubator if there is a pip..............
Good Luck.......and again........it is an easy fix and will be fine after you boot it.................Good Luck with your hatch..................
THe humidity was high so I pulled them. It did not even get down to 70%. I do have some pips but I made an executive decision. I would never be able to carry my incubator with all of those eggs and glasses of water to the bathroom.

The runt of my batch I feel is waning. I see her struggling to stand up and she's not as active as the others that are almost double her small size. I took a look at her feet and one seems off. Not a spraddle like my poor little Forest Gump but with the toes. I hope she's just tired and not fading on me.

I don't know if it will help but has helped me a lot, I add nutri drench and liquid B vitamins to warm water and drip it slowly on the beak. A few drops every hour until the chick eats consistently on its own.

Well, try to keep the hole a little always from the beak, for if the chick is to make it and be strong, it will make it. Just make a hole with a sharp object, make sure you be very careful!
