August Hatch-A-Long!

I have 3 of 6 Barred Rocks hatched. The other 3 have no pip or anything. Today is only day 21 though. Trying to decide when to candle and see what is going on...

It won't hurt them or stop the process if I candle them now? Or distrust the humidity? What exactly should I look for if I candle them?

in my opinion it won't hurt! I do and would but please note others disagree! if you do candle them you'll see shadows in the air space and movement...depending on the color of the shell you may see the beak...if you pick them up and tap them and they chirp no need to candle!

My concern with candeling so close to hatch is.. you could cause them to shrink wrap due to the change in humidity.
Also I hear so often folks thinking the chick is dead because it is not moving..........They take rest periods and could very well be resting
or napping........I just do not mess with them.but we all find the way that works best for us..............

HMMM

Candled and there was no movement - and they just "felt dead". I decided to open a peek hole into the air cell. Yep, as I suspected - all 3 dead. One pipped through a vein and bled out, the other two all I could see when I opened were yolk and butt.
