August Hatch along?

Nice little surprise to come home to. 5 out of13 are pipped a little early at 19.5 days.

4.5 of my six shipped duck eggs hatched. I say 4.5 because I had to hatch the last one, he was stuck in his shell. Only one with a name, he is now little bit.

well didn't figure mine would start hatching until tomorrow did check at day 5 and 46/48 put in were viable, night of day 20 one is out of shell and 1 more is broke into air sack chirping away as it works to get out so it's going to be a long night here for me

sure like the hatching out in the hovorbators better than my previous attempts with the one from cal ranch

Is it possible the second chick cut it's belly on the shell? When the malpositioned chick hatched, was all the yolk absorbed? The only malpositioned chicks I've ever had hatch did not make it, as they'd hatched too early, so I don't have much experience to draw on for a well-informed answer. Perhaps someone with more hatches under their belt can offer some insight into what may be going on.

it sounds like he had a rough hatch, maybe not quite positioned right and tore something? Hope it stopped.... By now it has either stopped or the chick didn't make it I would think.

we lucked out with that mal positioned one, used stypix on it when noticed blood in there it's up and doing well
