August is now 20 weeks

I'm voting slow developing cockerel, those bronze, pointed hackle feathers don't say pullet at all. Very pretty bird.
That is what I was wondering about..
I guess its a waiting game.
August was a very tiny runt,as yiu can see in my profile pic. Only as big as my thumb.
Has always been behind the hatchmates on the ranch in growth. However I do believe August is one of if not the only bird that survived from that brood.

It is not uncommon for the roos to be the small runts of the hatch, neither is it uncommon for cockerels to develop more slowly than the females. Especially in that picture of the back of August's neck, those pointed feathers that sort of curve in at the back say male to me.

There were 7 chicks all together. Cremes and yellow and 3 black penquin looking ones. Two of the black ones perished before completing the hatching process. August was the only one who survived and made it to the ground (they were hidden on a covered hay bale).
The Faverolle broody hen was tending to and teaching the light chicks how to scratch and August was left alone several feet away.
Attempts to get her to gather or pay any sort of attention to Auggie were disregarded. The hen simply rounded up the others and turned her back on August. So I picked up the baby and have been raising Auggie ever since. Quite spoiled I might add. Enhanced fortified diet and fresh clean water every day.
