Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

My understanding with frontline and advocate is that they are skin borne, not blood borne, so that you can still eat the eggs after the chickens have been treated. Megan, do you eat your eggs, or do you have a no-go period after they've been teated?
I was just about to ask the same thing

Grrr so frustrating when my girls fight all the time.. I cant isolate one as they are all doing it.. It's gets really rough!
Gunna have to make the hard choice soon and give them to someone with a bigger property I think :( don't know what else I can do!

Megan, Martin may need to slip in an extra bag of worms for you. You've put lots of us onto him. Thanks.
Can I check the details of advocate with you. You use Advocate for kittens/small cats up to 4kg. One drop on the back of the neck every 6 six months. This worms them as well as takes care of mites and lice. Thanks Megan. Kay

It's 1 drop on the back on their neck every month :) and the box should last about 6 months depending on how many chickens u have :) it does lice mites fleas, ear mites and intestinal worming :)

No with-holding period. Sounds like the best cure for lice and mites. Thanks Megan

.

You do know chickens do fight sometimes Megan? They are allowed to sort out a pecking order and now that they have started laying more hormones are rushing around so some might be pushing up to top hen.
Give them a few weeks before you make any rash decisions. As long as blood isn't being drawn or they are ganging up on just one hen they should sort it out.

It's the perfect cure!!!!

And yeh I understand they fight, and that's the problem- yes there is blood involved sometimes, 1 got her comb half ripped off and we had to get her surgery to remove it, noticed yesterday one has had a nice bite taken out of her wattle.. They bleed on their combs from bites and just now they are biting each other's necks and back and pulling feathers! It crazy! They fight over their food, if ones getting attention the other is jealous... I have to keep yelling to make them stop and half the time break it up so no one gets seriously hurt... It's bad fighting, sometimes they grab each other's combs and wattles and just pull while the other one is screaming out! Makes me crazy...
