Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Hay, with the advocate. Do you think you'd have to separate the rooster for a day so that when he mounts the girls and bites their necks he doesn't swallow some of it??

My friends said that it shouldn't matter.. It only takes an hour to soak in.. And they just bite the feathers not actually licking the stuff off so should be all good :) I personally put it in between their shoulder blades at the back.. Between the wings there is a little groove in their body and I just drop it in there..

Haha I totally said shoulder blades.. Do chickens even have shoulder blades lol... I mean the top part of their back , lower then their neck .. :)

Yeah have a search on BYC for Cocci, see if you can find some info or make a new thread.

Try looking at this ( down the bottom are the bad poops ) ----> http://chat.allotment.org/index.php?topic=17568.0%3Cbr%3E%3Cbr%3Ei

I am for sure going to get me some of this stuff!!
Sounds wonderful!
Do you have to keep a monthly thing going or can I just use it for the one offs??
Does it expire?
Thanks again:D .

YAYAY.
Congratulations!!!
I'm going to have to get into quails again I think.
We lost one the other day:( . But they are laying better!!

You can do it monthly.. I do, just to prevent mites and fleas, as everyone around me has dogs and chickens and I don't want then to pick up mites ect! And another reason I do it monthly is cause I use it as a wormer also! Once a chicken is 12 months of age you only need to do the application every 3 months anyways :)

Also just be aware that if your chickens do have mites, once you apply the advocate, they will be a little restless that night as all the mites are dying and going crazy on their bodies.. So I suggest a morning application :) it does expire but usually you have a good 2 years before the expiry date :) just check the box before you buy :)
