Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Nice chicken pictures Ash.
This lot here don't look like rocks at all. They have the face of a Malay-like thing as well.lol.

And yet both parents were quite attractive Barred Rocks.
It will be interesting to see how they grow out and what I can breed from them.

(I can never get this stupid "quote" thing on here to work!)

( lol you sure don't. I thought you where complimenting yourself for a second there! )

How old are they now?

Don't forget Lucas, that blrw are not a recognized colour. I feel pretty sure they will be. Jerry foley is working on it in the states. Google him, he has some lovely pics. I don't show and I like what I like. We had people over for a BBQ on Aus day and folks that had no chooks were asking me about the pretty laced birds.
They are eye candy.

So laying yet or not? They are not going to grow much more are they? Well not a rapid change anyway.

Isn't it only GLW and SLW that are recognized.
Robs birds are AMAZING!!! I am stunned....How does he keep them looking so good. Although the colors are not as bold as I was expecting and the roosters are just not that showy in my opinion. I'd rather just have the hens. So perhaps not what I'm looking for, for my one concentrate breed.
That little one ( the first picture ) is so cute!
Also, I know it's obvious but that rooster in the middle ( 3rd picture ) is a rooster.lol.

I've been to robs place and he has lots of unrecognized colours. The trick is to get them to breed true. Yes that is my black blue laced Wyandotte , I'm keeping him. The 8 birds in this pic came from the same parent stock, which came from Rob.

As far as I know there is no red laced blue. If you google ' Wilson's Wyandotte 's ' he has pictures of most of the colours and a few that he has made up.
I only purchased a breeding pair, but my young ones are pol. They are a project though and you do get variations in the clutch. I think that the colours are lovely but some of the die hard purists cull hard for type , lacing and comb. My lot are a little spoilt.

But that could be said of all my birds.
Come August , I'll have eggs ready for post.
What gorgeous looking chickens. All of them, but especially the lot sitting side by side on the long garden seat.

Cheers .......... AB
