Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Yay luke! I'm hoping some of those 3 Daisy/Chain babies will be frizzles. I'll upload an updated pic of my Dark Olive x Frizzle baby tomorrow.. its so very cute.

mmm not sure on breed and i can't tell from the pic but does she have any long pointy feathers at the base of her back?
Sorry for the late replies... Busy with small kids & feathered babes! @TheChookPatch I'm not sure... A bit hard to tell. He/She is still confusing me!
I have a silver pencilled wyandotte. Looks like it has a single comb and also could be younger than 5.5 months. Hard to see, but does look like some early saddle feathers coming through and very red faced so I am thinking a mixed breed male too. She was molting here but you get the idea. I would think yours could be a sIlver laced cross given the size of the pattern. Did it come from a reliable friend, or is it possible it was an unknown less scrupulous seller?
@Bens-Hens yeh I 'm thinking some strange mix. Not a proper breeder just a backyard bloke who was getting rid of some chicks and I needed a couple of egg layers for our family... I still can't tell yet but my husband and I have wagered our bets! Thanks everyone for your input. I will keep you posted who I have now named "Mr Spots"!

Hi everyone - I've taken a leap into hatching eggs!

Here's one of my Wellies sitting on 6 naked neck and 6 silver pencilled plymouth rock bantam eggs. I put them under her on Friday night, so fingers crossed for a successful hatch!

I may be coming in here and getting some advice from all you lovely people soon

I hope so too. I think I've got hubby on board with keeping a plymouth rock roo and pullet and breeding them if I hatch them out successfully.

Oh, in other news, my dorking needs to have her eye surgically removed

She got some trauma to it a while ago and her third eyelid completely covered her eye. Now its retracting back slowly, and all that's left of the eye is a white, yucky mess.

Sorry to leave it so long to reply... been bizay!

Well I have to be honest in saying I've spent the past month gettting the chook'ouse ready to house the aforementioned chickadees. We have a sale coming up in my town soon (12 April) so I hope to be buying a couple of ladies there. I joined here to get as much info as possible before I took the chooky plunge. Have gratefully learnt heaps already and really enjoying reading about all your babies.

I've been the proud Mumma of a pair of Khaki Campbell ducks (Mr Elvis Duck and Mrs Pricilla Duck) for a while and my little family and I have taken to switching off the telly and going outside to watch the ducks play lol

Will let you know what I buy...

Hi Aussie chick, is that a Damara in your profile pic? Who's in your flock?
Sorry TheChookPatch I havent replied.. a bit rude wasnt I?

Only just getting used to the forum lol "I Found The Quote Button" YAY!

The sheepy is owned by one of the farms around here. We were out on a photo shoot and I was lamb wrangler for the day lol couldn't resist a little lamby photo.
