Beautiful Fancy

Wyandottes aren't a breed I've had before, but I do want a couple in the future! Maybe after I hatch Fav's and Marans; will see how my numbers are then.

You have very beautiful birds Fancy! GLW's were next on my list of must have birds until I decided I wanted blue eggs. I might be wrong, but I've got the impression you operate a closed flock, so only hatching eggs? I'm curious, what do you look for when you choose new birds/eggs?

I don't bring any birds in, but I do sell chicks. Once I've decided on a breed I do as much research as possible . Get to know what the DQ's in that particular breed are then try to source some eggs. Backyard poultry have a ' breeders directory in each state. I rarely take birds to shows because of the lack of bio security I've witnessed with my own eyes, however I do strive to breed the best birds that I can because some of my customers do show their birds.
I'm always thinking ahead. I dropped off 2 pullets to a lady last weekend, she had the nicest looking slw roo I've seen in a while. She has promised me eggs in spring, with her lovely boy on my pretty girls I think they will be worth waiting for. Like everyone I love my little mongrels , ' wylkies ' and they have their own place in my garden.
