Pretty eggs Luke. What breed laid the olive coloured one?

The darkest ones are Marans and the lighter brown ones with spot (are they the olive ones?) are also a Marans. One lays dark, the other lighter.

I saw a run made by having wood border with 1cm square fixed mesh in the floor covered with dirt and seeded with chicken loving grass mix so they could eat it but not make it a dirt grass barren run. I'm going to make it for my girls in spring.

YAY!!! My hens have started laying the last few days. Even got a Leghorn egg in there.

Bit of sad news from me this morning. My light blew in my brooder last night sometime. I had hot water bottles in there incase but my poor Belgium's are barely hanging on this morning. I have raced them back to the incubator to see if I can save them... Unfortunately it has been extremely cold for this time of year. Not sure what temp it was over night but at 7am it was -1c.. Ill keep my fingers crossed for them.

Thanks Fancy. We'll see how it goes. I lost both the marans that were in the brooder so I hope I don't loose these little guys. I had another marans hatch over night. I'm going to try to rig up another light for the brooder so there is 2 in there if one should fail.
