Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

They are sooooo cute :) I love Mille too Luke. I would love a few as broodies. Hi pantaloons, thanks for the donkey info. I will hopefully be hand raising who ever I choose so they should just fit right in. I breed for egg colour by crossing the blue egg layers and brown egg layers selecting for olive eggs. They don't have a breed name as such, olive eggers? I'd love to give mine a breed name if I can get a line to breed true. It becomes a bit of a lucky dip when there are all those colour genes involved, but I kind of like the excitement of waiting for their eggs, each one is unique in colour and consistency of pigment which makes it really helpful for hatching :)

Thanks rexy, after I gave them a Spruce up they went and dug in the dirt so I'm waking up extra early for a second sprucing before they go. I think I have finally relaxed about it. .. i started finding all these things I've never notice, like blemishes under one of their feet, a tiny nick on her eyelid, small bits of damage to leg scales and the list goes on and on! SO, I think I need to chill the $#!& out, and stop looking at them and just have fun :)

hi Luke,
I count 5 belguims:
belguim barbu d'anver
belguim barbu de watermaal
belguim barbu d'everburg
belguim barbu de bitsfort
belguim d'uccle

I have only read of the d'everburg and d'bitsfort in one book.
booted bantam is a very close relative. I found on the belguim watermaal thread here on BYC that you can cross a pyncheon and a d'anver you get a PQ watermaal.
have you found any pyncheons breeders?
thanks for the help guys.

I will keep checking out BYP fancychooklady. I recommend it to Aussies!
cheers,
cooper

Hi guys, I've had a bad week.... My little lamb pixie got poisoned by something and died. And the same day the budgie we are babysitting for my daughters school died. I've been feeling really s#!t so I decided I needed a little egg therapy...
most kids won't notice if you replace a budgie. When my son was little his budgie had to be replaced twice. Got the same colour, as close in size as we could. We got up to 'Budge mark 3' without him being any wiser. (Normally I would have just let him know what happened and help him cope with it, but both times were during some very traumatic times for him, when he really had enough on his plate.)

Fireweed had pretty yellow flowers and is highly toxic to grazing animals. I hope you don't have any ! It spreads like fire and u need to pull it roots and all before they flower or they re populate. Graziers spray poison to kill it.
