Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Hey Ash. Is it possible a pullet that has laid two blue hued eggs also lay light cream colour eggs? I am puzzled as I have collected two small eggs from new laying aras today with no blue ( I do understand they can sometimes lay twice )
No - I have never seen that happen in 15 years of breeding them. If they don't lay blue/green then they aren't Araucanas.

Just a thought that occurred to me.
When people choose birds from unsexed chicks, they will usually pick the biggest and strongest looking chicks.'
The biggest and strongest chicks at most ages will be roosters!

That is exactly why when I went to pick up some 4 week old Wyandottes I selected the ones with the thinnest legs and missed the ones with thick chests, legs and heads.
But yes to novices I suppose they would pick the biggest in the hopes they would have more chance of living.
