Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Went out to give the girls some treats just before and I found my poor little fug the( pigeon) chicken dead. That's the third older timer to pass in a couple of weeks now. Little fug was the smallest in the flock with the biggest attitude. She was 8 and 1/2, R.I.P little lady no more people mistaking you for a pigeon anymore. fug was an oeg bantam.

:hugs

Just thought I'd share my little brag with you I had on the weekend (Satay and Sam may have already seen this

)

The Dalmatian b*tch I show was awarded Best of Breed at an Open show on the weekend. Very proud of her

Okay so think I've posted my last post on some random thread somewhere cause it ain't here no more lol. Oops!

Anyway it was asking advice on Australorps I was getting a photo of but they've turned out to have feathered legs so going to look further afield. I've emailed cb&cg to see if they have eggs and bellaroo poultry in Qld.

So if you have had eggs posted was it very successful?

Hi Appps, just saw this post and have replied to your pm.

Aww poor little Fug. She had a good life so rejoice in that mate.

I find them ok layers. Small sized eggs but not too bad. I lost my first pekin recently she was 9 years old and still laying. Mine lay just about every day only missing the occassional day here and there but the 3 i have now are quite young only been laying a few months. My black rooster and hen are from show winning lines and my buff is just a standard backyard layer but i don't find much difference in the amount either lay. I can't wait too see pics of your babies when they hatch. I have a few eggs in the bator now due to hatch in a weeks and a half or so. My first hatch was only a couple of eggs from these ones and they were both roosters.

I will be sure to share pics as soon as they hatch. Extremely excited!!
The parents of the eggs I am getting aren't show chooks, just backyard family members but they are stunning in my opinion :)
Yours are absolutely adorable! Rooster definitely doesn't seem impressed lol.
I'm very sorry to read you have recently lost a few girls. It's extremely sad :-( On the plus side, they had long and I'm assuming happy lives with you and there is some comfort in that xo

Were the roos older also? I didn't realize people kept nore than one in a flock. This is all new to me :)

Hi ladies and gents after the sad discovery that all my chicks where boys i am keeping one as a trail for rooster collar which is having good results so far but i cant have all three. So i am extending a offer to anyone that is after a Blue Australorp Roo in the Perth area may have him/them for free as i know that if you are on here then they are going to a good home/dinner plate, could never do it myself. :) If you are interested please pm me.
Thank you
Craig

Satay. So sorry to hear you have lost so many lately. I hope I get 9 years from mine, it's so easy to get attached to them isn't it, they've all got such individual personalities.
