Backyard temp here in the shade has easily tipped 40-44 last 2 weeks and all girls survived, but yea like I said Im not sure what margin of survival my black girl had - it looked close when her panting turned into a throaty growling sound

Same with my hens (greedy girls).  Can you give ducks layer mash??? They have no problem eating it just maybe pellets are better???

They can eat either. Mine prefer pellets.

This weeks project in The Chook Empire.
Cutting up an watertank with an angle grinder to
make way for 3 small individual breeding pens.
It also involved moving my old duck house 1 metre
down the hill, and chainsawing some fig branches that were in the way.

no mate- the water tank will not become the chook houses
it is in the way, so I have to cut it up and get rid of it.

Oh how awkward, sorry. You could have made a breeding cage out of that tank though.

I did consider that option- but funny shape and too small.

I don't think the shape would have been a problem but yeah might be to small and to hot because of the sheet metal.
